Skin and scalp pH tester – HI981037

The pH of the skin is slightly acidic with a pH value of approximately 5. Having an acidic pH helps protect against dangerous bacteria and fungi while also aiding the growth of beneficial bacteria. Skin pH imbalance can lead to or amplify certain skin diseases. Many skin care products and soaps are made to be pH balanced so as not to alter the skin’s natural pH out of a desirable range.

The HI981037 Leather pH Meter is designed to measure the pH of surfaces, leather, skin and paper. It features a single button operation system and is easy to use. It has a compact, water-resistant casing, plus automatic one- or two-point pH calibration.

Electrode characteristics:

Thanks to the flat tip amplified electrode, the contact surface between probe and sample is maximized. The electrode has an open junction which consists of a solid-state gel interface placed between the sample and the internal reference system. This interface prevents silver from contaminating the sample and prevents it from clogging, ensuring a fast response and stable reading. HI981037 can be used for small samples as immersion is not required.

• Flat Glass Tip: The flat tip provides an optimal contact surface for measuring surfaces that cannot be penetrated.
• Glass designed for use at low temperatures: The glass tip is made of a special formulation of glass suitable for use in samples to be measured at temperatures ranging from 0 to 50°C.

Automatic Calibration
This pH meter is automatically calibrated at one or two points. The buffers are automatically recognized and after calibration the buffer values ​​are shown on the display.

An hourglass is displayed on the LCD until a stable reading is obtained.

Automatic shutdown
The pH meter can be set to automatically turn off after 8 or 60 minutes to conserve battery if left on.

Diagnosis Probe
During calibration the instrument will display an error message (Err) to indicate that the probe needs to be cleaned.

Low battery indicator
The pH meter for leather and surfaces has an exceptional lifespan of approximately 1,000 hours of use and an indicator is shown when the energy is running low.
