Coronavirus COVID-19 – news and prevention

The current situation in Lithuania and in the world regarding the coronavirus COVID-19 leaded Hanna Instruments Baltics company to take preventive measures for the recipients of orders. Contact pick-ups are not available on site during this period. All received orders will be sent via courier service DPD in a contactless manner from 16.03.2020. Contactless delivery of shipments is currently planned until 12.05.2020

We are closely monitoring the information published by the World Health Organization (WHO), the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention and other health authorities in relation to the COVID-19 outbreak. We want to assure you that ordering the delivery of goods will ensure your maximum security. We are convinced that preventive action is a mutual obligation to stop the spread of the virus, so we invite you to take all possible security measures.

DPD information:
From March 16, 2020 (Monday) contactless delivery will start. All shipments are delivered leaving the shipment at a distance of 2 meters from the Recipient and without direct contact with it. The recipient’s signature on the courier scanner is changed in one of the following ways

1. The recipient displays a valid ID document at a distance, and the courier enters the last 5 digits of the document number (not the ID number) on his scanner. Appropriate documents: passport, ID card, driver’s license, residence permit in Lithuania.

2. If the Recipient does not have an identity document with him, the courier shall, with the consent of the Recipient, take a photograph of it next to the consignment from a distance of 2 meters.

3. If the recipient refuses to take pictures and if desired, the courier can direct the parcel to the most convenient DPD Pickup post office (if the parcel meets the maximum requirements for the size and weight of the post office).

4. If the consignee refuses to perform the above actions, the courier shall not deliver the consignment. The shipment is returned to the sender.

  1. If the consignment is destined for a company, the courier takes photos of the consignments left at the company’s premises from a distance of several meters to see fragments of the premises.
  2. Information. DPD will inform private recipients about changes in the process the evening before delivery and the morning of delivery. Beneficiaries of business enterprises will be additionally informed.
  3. Limitations. The courier cannot enter apartments or private houses, except for common areas, i. y. corridors, staircases, etc. Access to business premises is unrestricted.
  4. Legal information. A photo (image) of the consignee will be processed for the purposes of delivery of consignments and handling of claims and complaints. The information is stored for 7 months from the record. Photos captured by the courier scanner will automatically go to a separate secure server, so the courier will not be able or technically able to copy or forward the photos and information to third parties. The consignee has the right to object to the processing of the image and to choose the delivery of the consignment to the DPD Pickup ATM.
